Wild Lettuce Alcohol Extract

One way to make wild lettuce extract is to use a safe grain alcohol like vodka, everclear or whiskey or a grain alcohol to extract the beneficial compounds which are dissolved into the alcohol.

To do this, you will need to mix 1 cup of wild lettuce leaves with 1 cup of grain alcohol.

Allow the mixture to sit for 5-30 days, the longer the stronger, then strain the extract using a fine mesh strainer. You can now evaporate the mistuxe down further or bottle the liquid in dark amber jars. UV light can degrade the active ingredients quickly, so do not use clear glass bottles.

Steps how to make Wild Lettuce Extract using alcohol. 1) Start by chopping up a bunch of wild lettuce. 2) In a small pot over medium heat, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. 3) Add the wild lettuce and blanch for 2 minutes. 4) Drain the wild lettuce and place it in a blender. 5) Add 1 cup of vodka and blend until smooth. 6) Pour the extract into a glass jar and store in the refrigerator.

To filter the extract, screw the spacer stick into the bottom of the container. Pour the extract through the filter and discard the leaves. Store the extract in a safe place, such as a cabinet, and use it as you would any other herbal extract.
